We are playing 2 ten team tournaments with our Fantasy Basketball Roster today.  The game is a 7 player, 210 point cap game on FSL.

At center, I’m going with Pau Gasol ($31).  He has been inconsistent lately, but this should be a close game and Gasol will get big minutes and will be looked to for some scoring.  The center position is thin today and the next best player was likely Okafor or Murphy, neither of whom I feel comfortable with.

My cheapie for the day is Ricky Davis ($20).  D. Wade is gone, so Davis has taken over running the offense and has scored 27 in his last three.  He should be able to give us 23-25FP for his $20 salary and makes a nice roster filler.  T. McGrady ($32) gets a guard spot.  The primary scoring option for the Rockets and I just couldn’t pass him up.  The last guard spot goes to Joe Johnson ($30).  He is trying to get that last playoff spot for the Hawks and is playing hard.  He should get 40 minutes and I’m just going to keep riding him until he lets me down.

At one forward I’m going with Carmelo Anthony ($36).  Iverson has a finger injury that is really hurting his shooting ability and Melo may be the beneficiary of some extra looks on offense that would normally go to Iverson.  Denver is in a fight for that last playoff spot and can’t afford to lose this game, so Anthony should get good minutes.  Toronto is a decent team and should be able to keep it close, especially without Iverson at full strength.  Hedo Turkoglu ($30) gets a forward spot.  He should be able to do some real damage from outside v. a weak Heat team.  D. Howard has a bruised quad, so Orlando may go small for some of the game, which really helps Turkoglu.  Corey Maggette ($30) gets the last forward spot.  I had $30 left to spend and he was the best option available.  He gets a matchup with a Hawks team that can run the floor, so hopefully Maggette can just have an average night and earn his $30 worth of FP.

Good Luck.

Fantasy Basketball Roster Update

Looks like Al Jefferson may be hurting with a bad ankle as he missed practice on Monday.  Just to be safe I am replacing him with Carlos Boozer at the same $36 salary.

Good luck.

Only 3 games on the NBA schedule.  We are playing 2 ten team tournaments with our roster.  Today’s structure is a 7 player, 200 point salary cap.

Center is weak today with Ming being the only elite center on the board.  I’m passing up Ming and going with Mark Blount for a near minimum $11 salary.  I’d love to have Ming tonight, but due to the thin schedule, spending $35 on Ming would leave us weak at the other positions.  Blount has a starting job and he has been producing lately.  I don’t like the fact that Haslem is returning, but for $11, he should get at least 17FP.

At forward I’m going with Al Jefferson (36), Shawn Marion (33) and Tim Duncan (35).    There is a steep falloff at Forward after these three.  It is a lot of money tied up at Forward, but I didn’t want to drop down to the next tier for a forward.

At Guard I’m going with Tracy McGrady (32), Brandon Roy (30) and Rafer Alston (21).  A little weak at guard, but they could surprise.  I wanted Wade, but just didn’t have the salary cap today.  I expect that Alston could surprise and outperform his $21.  Roy and McGrady are risky, as I don’t really expect either to reach their salary worth of fantasy points, but there just aren’t any other good options out there.

None of the players appear to be involved in any trades, so we shouldn’t have to update.

Good luck.
